Much has been made, by the struggling McCain/Palin campaign, about Barack Hussein Obama’s ties to the 1960’s radical Bill Ayers, who by all accounts was, and probably still is, an asshole.

But, with a cursory examination of John McCain’s past, it’s easy to find some very questionable associates.

If McCain brings up Jeremiah Wright, Obama can bring up John Hagee, a raging anti-catholic and anti-semite who’s ready to bring about the end times, and a supporter McCain, reluctanctly and with a wink, ‘disavowed’.

Or Obama could bring up Rod Parsley, another McCain supporter, who advocates a kind of Holy War against Muslim nations.

What about Bill Ayers, you say?  Well, what about the Keating 5, with whom McCain was involved as a politician, and while the scandal was active?  The scandal was also financial in nature, which should make it ever so much more interesting to people now, in the wake of the deregulation disaster in the US economy.

This supposed relationship between Bill Ayers and Barack Hussein Obama began in 1995, when Bill Ayers and Obama were working on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.  The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was funded in large part by the radical Walter Annenberg, who frequently hung out with other radicals such as Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, Frank Sinatra, and Prince Charles, a shady group if ever there was one.

When Bill Ayers was active in Weatherman, the Weathermen, or the Weather Underground Organization, Barack Hussein Obama was 8 years old.  It is unlikely that he was involved, directly or indirectly, in the activities of the Weather Underground.  McCain, however, was active in the Keating 5 scandal by his own admission.

And now, McCain’s choice to try to drag up dirt on his opponent has resulted in his association with the Iran-Contra scandal being brought back out of mothballs.  A man with J. Sidney McCain’s history should know better than to try to accuse others of being unethical or untruthy.

Senator McCain also has scandals in his personal life and all kinds of unsavory ties to lobbyists.

One unfortunate result of negative campaigning, however, is that it will turn off potential Obama voters, who tend to be younger and more hopeful than potential McCain voters, who tend to be old, angry, and negative, like their candidate.  If it begins to appear that the candidates are ‘the same’, Obama’s supporters will stay home in droves, while McCain’s supporters will be energized by the evil spirit of the campaign, drawing on the negative energy to revitalize their mummified remains and grow more powerful than we can imagine.

But, most importantly, why do I keep calling Senator Obama by his full name, Barack Hussein Obama?

Simple, and this is the point of the McPalin campaign bringing up Bill Ayers, it allows the McPalin campaign to associate Senator Obama with a terrorist.

And, even if the terrorist in question has been a mostly reputable citizen for the last 40 years, and even if the terrorist in question is a wealthy, white college professor, he’s still a terrorist, and terrorists have funny names…

Don’t they…Barack Hussein Obama?

But, when you watch the video above, and have a good laugh, and then laugh again at J. Sidney McCain’s disingenuous apology, don’t forget to look over McCain’s left shoulder and see the vile countenance of one Rod Parsley!

And so we come full circle.

Don’t forget to watch the debate tonight.
