I watched Obama’s half-hour infomercial tonight.  It was well-done and comforting.  I suppose that’s all one could ask.  It’s doubtful that it will draw any Republican voters, but then that doesn’t seem to be what it was designed to do.

It played more as an appeal to Obama’s supporters to get off their high-falutin’, elitist asses and round up some votes.

Obama already has the lead; he doesn’t need to convince anyone to come to his side.  He just needs to keep his people enthusiastic.  He needs to make sure his people vote.

As his support tends to be younger and more colorful, it is vital to keep them stirred up.  Otherwise, they’ll stay in their fancy university offices and/or soup lines and/or hybrid cars and read their communistic, race-baiting literature while smoking their wacky tobacky, marrying turtles, sexualizing children, killing babies, conspiring to take away my precious guns and the sweet baby Jesus, screaming ‘God damn America!’, and dreaming of a day when every American has affordable health care, and forget all about voting.

It’s that health care thing that the Republicans find most appalling.  I guess they never get sick…probably because a warm, sudsy daily enema of Rod Parsley, Bill O’ Reilly, and Sarah Palin is keeping them healthy.

But, hey, I’m going to go down to the bar here in ‘real America’ and hate my country over a cold glass of ale.

Here are some numbers before I go:

I have Obama up 50% to 44% today.  That’s an electoral range of 336-352 EV.

That’s a nice lead, but I would be much happier if it was more like 75% to 25%.  That die-hard 25% are the people who still think Bush is doin’ a heckuva job.  They’re not a problem; they’ll all be raptured away soon, anyway, leaving a much-improved planet finally free of the corruption and putrefaction oozing from their pompous, delusional pie holes.
